On this week’s episode of Campground of the Week, we are talking about our family’s recent stay at the Holiday Park Campground in Traverse City, Michigan. This place is very special and served both as a great base camp for exploring downtown Traverse City, and as a peaceful waterfront lake retreat.
This is the type of campground where the site REALLY matters. We booked early (January 2, 2016) and were rewarded with one of the coveted lake front sites. Listen to this episode to hear us describe the various areas of the campground, and where you might like to stay if you visit.
Traverse City is a fabulous American destination, and visitors should be prepared to enjoy lots of local food, wine, beer, and coffee. The city also boasts a bold outdoors culture, so take advantage of the amazing kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, biking, canoeing, and fishing.
Here are links to some of the local highlights mentioned in this episode:

If Traverse City and northern shores of Michigan aren’t already on your RV adventure list, add them right this minute. We will have more about the region on an upcoming RVFTA episode about Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, just 30 minutes from Traverse City and the Holiday Park Campground.
This is truly a great American destination, and staying at the Holiday Park Campground on your journey offers a magical combination. See you at the campground!
