On this week’s episode of Campground of the Week, Matthew and Melissa Kellas review one of their favorite home state retreats, Rock Cut State Park in Loves Park, Illinois. This peaceful campground offers a great combination of back to nature experiences and easy access to fun local activities. Plus, it’s open year round!
The campground is located in Rock Cut State Park and has hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and swimming. The lake also has a beach, and you can enjoy concessions and picnic areas.
Melissa and Matthew recommend their family nearby local activities including the Anderson Japanese Gardens, the Burpee Museum of Natural History, Magic Waters Water Park, and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Laurent House. They have some food recommendations as well, and you won’t want to miss a stop at the Pigs Mind Brewing Company!
